GAP enables users to quickly and easily locate their people and things anywhere in the world and with the new what3words integration, they are able to accurately communicate the precise location – using just three words. What3words has given every 3m square in the world a unique 3 word address, which are randomly assigned to each square and will always stay the same. The integration of what3words with GAP will simplify locating and communicating a position of anything in the world. It will allow users to easily and efficiently communicate with first responders, helping them to get resources straight to the scene of an incident. “The new feature can be used by anybody and is relevant to every industry, from utilities to farming. We can see it being a big hit with our partners and customers across the globe.” Commented Lucy Finlayson, Partner Success Manager. What3words is fast becoming the quickest and easiest way to communicate your location anywhere on earth and, combined with GAP, it’s a winning solution. We’re thrilled to have been acknowledged today as one of the top 100 tech firms in the East of England in the TechEast 100. This new 2020 initiative aims to shine the spotlight on leading-edge tech businesses across Norfolk and Suffolk and support their growth ambitions.
The programme is led by TechEast and backed by Suffolk and Norfolk local authorities, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, BT and an impressive list of sponsors. TechEast worked with 19 expert judges to create the TechEast 100 shortlist. The judges were asked to identify: the region’s most exciting start-ups; scale ups with high growth potential, established national leaders and companies securing significant investment successes. TechEast wanted the judges to recognise local businesses pioneering new technologies or carving out new market niches as well as community players creating jobs for our local economy or new products and services to help make the world a better place. With glowing endorsements from Stephen Fry and Caroline Dinenage MP regarding the dynamic digital tech ecosystem in the East of England, the virtual event was an exciting recognition of some the greatest tech businesses in the area. If you’re interested in working with a TechEast100 business, we offer a number of products and solutions that connect, protect and optimise people and things. Our Global Alerting Platform (GAP) is used to build communications solutions for lone workers, vehicle telematics, business travel, asset tracking, IoT and beyond. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your project ideas. You can re-watch the live event on YouTube here. You can download the TechEast 100 Brochure here. Two10degrees has awarded their Academic Prize to University of Essex graduate, Riaz Philippe, who achieved the highest mark in his Computer Science and Electronic Engineering Final Year Project.
“Riaz has carried out a challenging bachelor thesis project, exhibiting excellent performance in terms of all the evaluation criteria. Although his effort has been exceptional, he undoubtedly represents a fine example of where one's studies in CSEE of UoE can lead to when combined with strong working ethos. Supervising Riaz has been a great pleasure for me personally. I wish him all the best in his future professional career, which I foresee to be bright.” Dr Serafeim Perdikis, Lecturer, School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering The team at two10degrees has always working closely with the University of Essex; from commercial project collaborations and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) to offering student Summer Placements and Work Experience. “Although we are not able to present the prize in person, we’re still just as thrilled to be able to award our Academic Prize to a very worthy winner. Riaz has clearly demonstrated exceptional performance in all aspects of this final year project and we’re proud to be able to recognise him for his efforts."
