Today, Richard Astbury, Senior Consultant at two10degrees attended the University of Essex Computer Science Graduation Ceremony to present the ‘two10degrees Award’ to the graduate with the highest mark for the final year BSc Computer Science Project. This year’s winner is Monika Delekta.
Lucy Finlayson, Business Services Lead at two10degrees says: "We are very proud to continually support the University of Essex and its students for their remarkable achievements. We wish all of the Computer Science graduates the best of luck for the future.” The team at two10degrees works closely with the University of Essex from commercial project collaborations and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) to offering student Summer Placements and Work Experience. From 2 July 2018, the two10degrees team were lucky enough to be joined by Thurston Community College student, Aiden Stockdale, for a work experience placement. During his time at the Ipswich-based office, Aiden worked on various programming projects under the guidance of Richard Astbury, one of our Senior Consultants. Aiden started by researching different approaches for building applications for mobile and tablet platforms. He evaluated each approach, identifying the strengths and weaknesses. He then picked a short list of three and built some simple applications to try out the tooling and validate his research. “Completing my work experience at two10degrees provided me with an invaluable insight into a programmer’s working world, and showed me a typical working day, providing me with beneficial knowledge to go on with later in life.” Aiden Stockdale, Work Experience Student “Aiden made impressive progress during the week. Being able to demonstrate sample application written in three different programming languages in such a short space of time shows some real talent” Richard Astbury, Senior Consultant, two10degrees Two10degrees believes “there’s more to software than writing code” and recognises the importance of giving back to the community by nurturing the talent of young people.
